He discusses the balance between maintaining a sweet spot in business while continuously striving for improvement and the uniqueness of each architectural project.

As both a Chilean and US architect, Matias has a unique perspective on the design process and how diverse a space can be used. He aims for flexibility and is tech-savvy enough to want to future-proof his projects. Lastly, as a competitive and hobby sailor, he also enjoys nature but most importantly, understands the value of space, attention to detail, and that every inch counts.

Landing in Miami, FL as a small-scale residential real estate developer, he soon found himself learning zoning and building codes in-depth, and understanding them better to maximize his return on investment. Shortly after, he began working towards his architectural license in the US, until founding MIK Architecture to work with other developers to get more value for their projects by creating desirable spaces for the end users.
